Common Causes of Hair Fall and When to Seek Help
Increased hair in the drain has several common medical explanations. The pattern on the scalp matters more than the number of hairs you count once.

Shedding and thinning are different problems
Telogen effluvium is a shift of hairs into the shedding phase, often two to three months after fever, surgery, childbirth, crash dieting, or a severe illness. Density looks reduced, but the scalp usually has no smooth bald patches.
Pattern hair loss is slower. Women often notice a wider partition. Men often notice recession or crown thinning. Alopecia areata is faster and patchy, with smooth skin.
What is worth checking
Iron deficiency and thyroid disease are looked for when the history suggests them. They are not the cause of every widened partition, and a long panel of unneeded tests does not regrow hair.
Tight hairstyles, chemical straightening, and scalp fungus in children need their own plans. A procedure such as PRP does not treat an infection.
When to book a consultation
Book if shedding lasts beyond a few weeks, if patches appear, if the scalp is painful or scaly, or if thinning is progressing in a family pattern. Bring a list of medicines and, if you have them, recent blood reports.
Dr. L. Divya’s clinic in Miyapur lists PRP and also mentions stem cell therapy and hair transplantation on the homepage. Those options are only meaningful after the diagnosis is clear.
